Drs. Sapoval and Haskal are pleased to announce that: Dr. Golzarian, one of the GEST co-founders is the guest Editor of the April issue of Endovascular Today.
The timing of this issue’s publication is nicely aligned with the upcoming GEST meeting in San Francisco, on May 6-9. Many of the articles in the edition cover material that will be explored in further detail at the Global Embolization Symposium and Technologies (GEST) meeting in San Francisco this May.
"Embolization procedures have become an integral part of modern interventional therapies, witnessing a remarkable surge primarily driven by improvement in microcatheter and imaging technologies and new embolic materials such as detachable coils, plugs, particles, and drug-eluting beads" Dr Golzarian said in his editorial.
Several contributors to this month’s Endovascular Today will be at GEST this year, such as Drs. Emiel J Sturm and Luc Defreyne. They opened the April feature by exploring the use of CTA and contrast-enhanced cone-beam CT in guiding treatment of acute nonvariceal gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
Dr. Mahmood Razavi offers a review of proper embolization techniques using N-butyl cyanoacrylate. At GES, Dr Razavi and Dr Arai will be organizing a HANDS-ON session with all the tips and tricks needed for using glue in peripheral.
Drs. Defreyne and Sturm will be speaking at GEST 2010 in the following sessions:
- Thursday 6 May
Visceral artery variants relevant to upper and lower GI embolotherapy
- Friday 7 May
Transsinusoidal portal vein embolization with onyx: a feasibility study in pigs
The GEST 2010 meeting in San Francisco is the ideal forum to find out more about technical and clinical reviews, challenging cases, controversies, selected live cases, featured technologies, master classes and virtual reality journeys using the most recent simulators.
